Julien Levy est né à Paris et a étudié la philosophie en France. Plus tard, en tant que musicien, il parcourt le monde avec son groupe au sein de la scène punk. C’est en tournée qu’il réalise ses premières photographies et films.
Il déménage ensuite à New York, où il développera son travail d’auteur, de scénariste et de réalisateur.
Son travail adopte toujours une méthode imbibée d’indépendance et de sous-cultures. Julien Levy vit à présent à Tokyo.

Il a réalisé de nombreux films et clips musicaux, ainsi que des productions pour Chanel, Miu Miu, etc.
Il a collaboré avec des talents aussi divers que Nick Cave, Nana Komatsu, Astrid Bergès Frisbey, Virginie Ledoyen, Alice Sara Ott, Bella Hadid, Nora Zehetner, Tom Lipinski, Finn Wittrock, Ryohei Shima, etc.

 

Julien Levy a écrit et réalisé plus de quinze oeuvres de fiction, publié quatre livres de photographies et son premier roman est à paraître.
